Race, Religion and Belief Staff Equality Forum is a place for colleagues to have a platform and a voice regardless of their race, religion or belief. It enables colleagues to feel empowered to speak out, flourish and be heard.

The Strategic Executive Sponsor for Race, Religion and Belief is David Pattison (Chief Operating Officer).

Since June 2020 the Forum has increased in size and colleagues have shared their thoughts, feelings and lived experiences of inequalities which helped to shape the EDI Strategy.

The forum celebrates diversity dates relating to race, religion and belief such as Diwali, Eid, Black History Month and South Asian Heritage Month. They often have religious guest speakers attend to tell members about the background of festivals and observances.

On any given morning the forum’s Teams chat is active with discussions of news and or events that have taken place, or celebrations and well wishes. In the chat, colleagues praise each other on their achievements and encourage one another to thrive. The chair of the forum posts a daily affirmation which helps to boost morale.
