I found out about the apprenticeship scheme for care leavers through the City of Wolverhampton Council care team. They helped me with the whole process, they helped prepare my professional cv and I was able to undertake a mock interview with a recruitment professional to build my confidence prior to the interview.

An apprenticeship allows you to acquire valuable skills whilst earning and opens multiple doors that otherwise school leavers especially care experienced ones will have a hard time getting through. If you are considering an alternative to the traditional university route, I really recommend an apprenticeship!
